In Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, people in the book show lack of emotion,feelings,interest or concern especially regarding matters of general importance or appeal wishing we had lack of apathy, my prediction is that people will no longer have strong emotions about anything important.They will become apathetic about most issues.We are convinced that one individual doesn’t matter. We can’t really make a difference in anything we believe in. That’s one of the reasons why people have started to lose interest in many aspects of their lives because they can’t do anything to change that. They are being death conditioned † (Brave New World). In their world death is viewed as a good thing and they don’t worry about it. When someone dies, no one cares. They really just think of it as people just leaving earth to become a fertilizer. In this novel, feelings and emotions are viewed as unhealthy. Once they start feeling emotions the citizens tell them to go immediately and see a doctor, that s why their population is apathetic because they can’t feel emotions at all. It’s technically not their faults, but the concept of not caring, and following what the others do is their fault. The only thing Huxley feared was that if anyone is going to become a trivial culture, also with some feelings, the orgy porgy,and the centrifugal. This emotional lack of bonds that is being influenced on inability to limit the dignity of humans being individuals, and it starts creating apathy toward death and loss of life. GPP3O: Summative C: Course Reflection: I decided to take GPP3O because of my interest in teaching and the science behind living a healthy life. I hoped that peer tutoring in a food and nutrition class would give me the chance to experience a teacher-like role in a class partially related to my field of interest. My expectations were met and I enjoyed a semester of growth as a tutor, as I also watched the tutees around me grow and learn. Throughout the course I have made connections with students and become a better leader, all while learning new things about myself and others. There were many surprising happenings throughout the semester. One of the most unexpected events occurred during my summative leadership activity. A certain†¦show more content†¦About a month into the semester Alex began to use a speech to text software on a chromebook to type up assignments. Alex continued to complete work in this way, until one day very recently when he/she decided to physically type up a recipe. I wasn’t convinced when Alex said that he/she was going to type it into their cookbook, but I encouraged an attempt. The whole recipe was typed up in less than twenty minutes after much slow-paced letter by letter typing. Although Alex still has a long way to go, the progress that I observed and played a part in is impressive when you consider how far he/she has come. Another goal that I have had since the beginning of the course was to adopt an engaging and effective teaching style. My aim has been to take the positive traits of teachers that I have enjoyed, while keeping in mind the characteristics and mannerisms that I have disliked, and crafting my own unique teaching style. As I have lead class discussions, group readings, and mini-lessons throughout the semester I have began to develop a teaching style through trial and error. I have paid special attention to the list of 25 pointers for successful tutees from assignment two and and focused on making my tea ching interactive, supportive, equal for all, and respectful. I have learned to appreciate that, concerning a students individual success, a teacher taking the time to listen to their student is just as important as the student listening to the teacher.

This attitude towardscloning has been held into belief up until recently when scientists in Scotlandcloned a sheep. And immediately after scientists in Oregon cloned a monkey(Fackelmann 276). The most major breakthroughs of the century in science hasoccurred and we are not ready for it. The scientific breakthrough of cloning hascaused a great deal of controversy in the media and also in the government. Theadvantages of cloning are tremendous to the human race and cannot be ignored. I believe that cloning humans is what the human race needs to advance. Humans would be stronger, smarter, and more perfect. Scientists could remove badgenes from the parents and replace it with a good one. If one of the parents hada bad gene or hereditary disease this could be removed from the embryo andreplaced with another clean gene. This process is called embryo screening itis used to determine if the child has received the defective gene. Severalembryos could be cloned, then the DNA from one of the embryos would then beremoved and standard genetic testing would be used to detect whether or not thatembryo contained the genetic disease. If this cloned embryo containd a diseasethen one of the other embryos could be used for implantation in a parent, thisguarantees that the child would be free of genetic disease (Marshall 1025). Forthose who disagree with cloning I am sure if there child could be saved from agenetic disease they would reconsider cloning. Imagine if one of your friends or family members was in need of a liveror kidney. Most likely you would donate your own liver or kidney to save therelife. But then you are one organ short. Well this happens a lot and seems towork fine. But if they needed a new heart you might have trouble finding one. Not if you had a clone of yourself that could supply you with a new organ ormaybe even a relatives organ that was naturally stronger (Cloning 1117). Someonecould replace their old organs with new ones and extend their life span. Thousands of lives that could be saved if we had the technology and advancedscience of cloning available. Even accepting an organ from a relative it mayfail, it has to be compatible with our body system , if its your clone, then itsa perfect match. Cancer is one of the largest killers and also one of the largest dilemmasscientists face today. Well, cancer research is possibly the most importantreason for embryo cloning. Oncologists (People who study Cancer) believe thatembryonic study will advance understanding of the rapid cell growth of cancer. Cancer cells develop at approximately the same great speed as embryonic cells do. By studying the embryonic cell growth, scientists may be able to determine howto stop it, and also stop cancer growth in turn (Watson 66).
